I am an experienced psychologist and psychotherapist working with adults. I obtained Master’s Degree in Psychology from Lodz University in 2004. I have been working and training as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist since 2008 working for Primary Care Mental Health Services in the Wirral, United Kingdom. I have completed low and high intensity training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at John Moores and Chester Universities respectively and obtained a High Intensity CBT Diploma in 2014 within the IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) framework. I have since worked as a Senior Therapist in Jersey Channel Islands and freelance therapist in Warsaw. I am a member of British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and fully subscribe to their professional code of conduct.
In my work I ensure individualised approach to patient’s needs, open and empathic communication and high professional and ethical standards. I offer evidence based therapy in line with NICE guidelines. I am interested in new developments in CBT therefore in my practice use among others the third wave CBT approaches including behavioural activation, exposure therapy, mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy as well as elements of cognitive analytical therapy. I offer treatment for the range of disorders including anxiety disorders, mood and personality disorders, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) including childhood and developmental trauma. I have extensive experience of working with variety of obsessive compulsive disorders, panic and generalised anxiety disorder (GAD). I am also able to provide anger management training, therapy for aiding recovery from substance use and behavioural addictions as well as support in complicated grief. I work under supervision and attend regular training events to keep my skills and knowledge up to date. I am able to provide therapy in both English and Polish.
